Low Temperature Thermal Desorption

Tradebe operate a low temperature desorption unit at our Recycling Centre in Dinnington, near Sheffield. The process is a recovery activity that operates at temperature of 200C under vacuum. Volatile organic compounds are distilled and then re-condensed to produce a thinners material or a support fuel. The solid residues are rendered non-hazardous and suitable for aggregate recovery or non hazardous landfill.

Dinnington Waste Management Centre

This facility is located near to Sheffield in Yorkshire and is especially designed for recovery, recycling and reuse of organic wastes.

The processes operated on site include; - storage, mixing and blending with optional solvent recovery, flammable waste blending (for liquid, solid,sludge or paste wastes), hydrocarbon consolidation  and recovery of oil from oil sludge using centrifugation.

The thermal desorption facility will begin operations in September 2009, and will further expand the organic waste treatment services offered by Tradebe. These services are in line with the UK waste strategy. The process meets the  BAT (best available technique) requirement for the treatment and recovery of hazardous waste. This new technology completes the portfolio of more traditional organic technologies available at DRC (Dinnington Recycling Centre)
