Marpol regulations cover the waste generated by maritime ships. They provide guidelines to the correct management of the different streams, from hazardous liquids to non-hazardous solids.

Marpol Annex I regulates Oily waste generated by Vessels:

  • A TYPE: crude oil cargo residues from oil tanker vessels, and ballast waters affected with crude oil.
  • B TYPE: hydrocarbons cargo oily residues from oil tanker vessels, different from crude oil, with density below one.
  • C TYPE: sludge, bilge waters and oily residues from vessel’s engine rooms, fuel purification equipment, and engine oils.

Transforming hydrocarbon waste, particularly from ships, into a high-quality, reusable product

With a focus on complying with MARPOL regulations (Annex I of the Convention), our facilities recycle of hydrocarbon-rich waste streams from maritime vessels.

This process results in a certified, high-specification fuel,  recognized for its environmental benefits: Tradebe Green Guel (TGF)

This groundbreaking approach not only adheres to the parameters mandated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for maritime fuel but also addresses potential shortages in marine fuel production while minimizing waste generation. By providing an innovative solution that aligns with Marpol I regulations covering prevention of oil pollution from ships, Tradebe’s hydrocarbon recycling services present a revolutionary alternative to traditional recovery methods. Our commitment to sustainability and continuous research positions us at the forefront of tackling environmental challenges today and shaping a more responsible and efficient future for the marine industry.

Contributing significantly to the reduction of CO2 emissions

Through our commitment to sustainable practices, Tradebe has been at the forefront of research since 2015, continually enhancing the transformation process of hydrocarbon waste fractions to produce a circular and eco-friendly product. The culmination of this research is the development of proprietary technology to produce TGF, a marine fuel with a comparable performance to traditional fuels. Notably, the production of TGF reduces energy consumption by 50% compared to traditional methods, contributing significantly to the reduction of CO2 emissions associated with conventional fossil fuels.
